Angels

Ambassadors of God on high filled the sky with heav’nly choirs and light,
And sang the baby’s endless praise in countless ways that sacred holy night.
Nestled in the hills asleep, their flocks to keep, the shepherds woke in fear,
As Angels came to visit them in Bethlehem with wondrous words of cheer.
Good tidings of great joy we share and everywhere is peace, good will to all,
“Go find the babe in swaddling bands whose mother’s hands have placed him in a stall.”
Effulgent hosts then joined in song, their voices strong, proclaiming, “Christ is born.”
“And Glory be to God above whose endless love is manifest this morn.”
Lo, Angels will come down again, announce to men, the Lord’s return to earth.
They’ll herald our majestic King, His praises sing, as at His humble birth.
So in this new millennium, we pray He’ll come to usher in His reign.
May unseen Angels give us strength, until at length, we join their glad refrain.
