Mary

Mother for the Holy One, the first born son, god’s favor she did bring,
Maiden from the Royal line, t’was God’s design to usher in the king.
Angel Gabriel appeared, Mary feared, then heard her role defined,
Awed to be the vessel of the Father’s love, his gift for all mankind.
Recognized from times of old, Isaiah told a virgin would conceive,
Role that Joseph understood, motherhood bestowed one silent eve.
Yet angel voices filled that night, and starry light announced she’d given birth,
Yielding to the Father’s plan, the son of man was born of her on earth.
